Nanjing Tech University (NJTech), formerly known as Nanjing University of Chemical Technology, Nanjing University of Technology, and National Central University that was established back to 1928. The Chemical Engineering at NJTech is one of the earliest chemical engineering programs and ranks Top 3 (2%) in China in the ARWU ranking. Developed by three generations of leadership, Academicians Jun Shi, Pingkai Ouyang, and Nanping Xu, our college now has over 150 faculty members, a host of one State-key Laboratory, two National Engineering Research Centers and one National Synergistic Innovation Center. Our program has a long tradition of excellence in the synergistic promotion between fundamental research and industrial applications. In the last 5 years more than 630 million RMB in research funding was granted from national agencies and industrial partners. Our research is heavily focussed on materials-oriented chemical engineering and biotechnology engineering. More than 20,000 students graduated from our program and devoted their professional training to different careers such as design, operation, research, and management.

Nanjing Tech University has a history of more than one hundred years as a cradle of education. Nanjing Tech University was authorized by the MOE to establish the "China-US Exchange Center for Young Makers" in 2017. Nanjing Tech University takes pride in its enormous research strength for it boasts 7 national scientific research platforms which are National Engineering Research Center for Biotechnology, National Center for International Research of Flexible Electronics, National Research & Development Center for Heat Pipe Technology, State Key Laboratory of Materials- Oriented Chemical Engineering and National Engineering Research Center for Special Membrane Separation Technology, National Science Park, the Synergetic Innovation Center for Advanced Materials, 28 research centers and 29 key laboratories of provincial and ministerial level. Nanjing Tech University Science Park is a national Science Park.  NanjingTech promotes the integration of university, government and industry. There are series of Sino-Foreign cooperative education programs, including one Master program in Control Science and Engineering (Machine Vision) with University of Burgundy (France), four 3+1 Joint Sino-Foreign Undergraduate Programs with Technological University Dublin. At the same time,  University of Queensland has co-sponsored the "2+2" undergraduate joint program of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and the Macquarie University in Australia has co-sponsored the "2+2" undergraduate joint program of Accounting. There are also dozens of student mobility programs with University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, RWTH Aachen University, University of California, Davis, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Imperial College London, and more 700 overseas students and scores of foreign experts from more than 10 countries and regions.

Nanjing Tech University students’ accommodation and residence life is mainly responsible for accommodating approximately 30000 students in university-owned and managed residences. This is a vast part with 10 residences spread over 3 campuses at Nanjing Tech University, such as Tanxiang, Beiyuan, Xiangshan, Xiyuan, Pujiang, Yaqing, etc. The residence halls are equipped with the comforts of home. Each room is outfitted with furniture and telephone and wireless network connection. All residence halls are located just a short walk from dining halls, classrooms, the fitness center, and libraries. International students’ education continues outside of the classroom. The residence halls are not only where students sleep, study, and hang out, but also where students begin to put the puzzle pieces together- the intersections of their education, identity, and society.
